Significance of Ramadan

The month of Ramadan is such a glourious month that many historical events took place during this month mainly including the revelation of Quran, the conquest of Makkah and many other and it is obligatory for the Muslims to fast in the month of Ramadan.

Importance of Ramadan from Quran and Hadith:

O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint,-(2:183)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said: "Whoever establishes prayers during the nights of ramadan faithfully out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards (not for showing off), all his past sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Bukhari Book #2, Hadith #36)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "When the month of ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained." ( Sahih Bukhari Book #31, Hadith #123)

Narrated Ibn Umar: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see It) then regard the crescent (month) of ramadan (as of 30 days)". ( Sahih Bukhari Book #31, Hadith #124)

Narrated Sahl: The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."( Sahih Bukhari)

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "Fasting is a shield (or a screen or a shelter). So, the person observing fasting should avoid sexual relation with his wife and should not behave foolishly and impudently, and if somebody fights with him or abuses him, he should tell him twice, 'I am fasting." The Prophet added, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, the smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. (Allah says about the fasting person), 'He has left his food, drink and desires for My sake. The fast is for Me. So I will reward (the fasting person) for it and the reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times." ( Sahih Bukhari Book #31, Hadith #118)

Lailat ul-Qadr :

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Some men amongst the companions of the Prophet were shown in their dreams that the night of Qadr was in the last seven nights of ramadan. Allah's Apostle said, "It seems that all your dreams agree that (the Night of Qadr) is in the last seven nights, and whoever wants to search for it (i.e. the Night of Qadr) should search in the last seven (nights of ramadan)."  ( Sahih Bukhari Book #32, Hadith #232)

We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand:Peace!...This until the rise of morn! (97:1-5)

Sign of Lailat ul-Qadr :

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported: We were talking about Lailat-ul-Qadr in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and he said: He who amongst you remembers (the night) when the moon arose and it was like a piece of plate (at the fag end of the month in a state of waning). (Book #006, Hadith #2635)

There is absolutely no doubt that the whole month is a month of Mercy, Forgiveness, and an opportunity for the believers to save themselves from the torment of the Hell Fire. We should recite Quran , do voluntary ‘nafl’ prayers , give ‘sadaqa’ and charity.

My dear brothers and sisters there is no any guaranty that this blessed Month of Ramadan will came back in our life next year. Please remembers those muslims brothers and sisters who faced war... I wish all of you happy Ramadan and ask ALLAH to forgive us (UMMAH) AMEEN
Remember your brother in your duas...
